What is paperless payroll?
Paperless payroll is our term for the ‘next wave’ in payroll processing. Rather than produce piles of printed paychecks, pay stub information, envelopes and other ‘inserts,’ payroll is done electronically. Paystubs are available to employees online (or you can print them if you have the need.) One of the large hidden costs of processing payroll is the time and money involved in printing, stuffing, sorting, and distributing paychecks.
What if I have employees who can’t open a bank account and therefore don’t have direct deposit?
For those employees who can’t (or won’t) go paperless, you have the ability to print checks, using your pre-printed check stock, or even handwrite checks for your employees that can’t (or won’t) use direct deposit. These settings are handled on an employee-by-employee basis.
What if I live in a state that prohibits employers from refusing to offer their employees the option to receive paper paychecks?
We realize some states prohibit this so we’ve developed Patriot Software to cover these scenarios. With Patriot Software, you can print hardcopy checks (using your pre-printed check stock), or generate a report to handwrite your paychecks.
