Home-based Worker Definition

Term Definition:
An individual who works outside of a traditional office or commercial setting, most often a home office, for part of the time or full-time.

Extended Definition:
Individuals who contribute to a business but do not work all of their scheduled hours at the business location but work some of their hours (or all of them) at their residence. Home-based workers may be employees or independent contractors. These positions may be called teleworking, remote, freelance, or telecommuting.
